“W objęciach tanga” (“In the Embrace of Tango”) is an original project and the common denominator of the musical realizations of the ensemble. The leader and author of the project is the violinist, Anna Psiuk-Maksymowicz. “I prepare each performance with the thought that tango should unite us – the performers and the audience, the listeners and the dancers – in such a way that we can experience it with all our senses. That’s why, during our concerts, the audience also sings along with us, and while listening, they can also watch the dancers.”
In our repertoire, apart from Argentine tangos, there is also a place for our favorite old Polish tangos. This is music that each of us, to some extent, identifies. Polish tangos are, after all, part of our national heritage. I am extremely happy that we will be able to perform them during this year’s May Tango Festival. We will take you on a journey told through the pearly sound of the accordion (Ersad Kamiński), the lyrical voice of the violin (Anna Psiuk-Maksymowicz), and the deep ocean-like tones of the double bass (Piotr Kucharz).
